Ceaseless conflict in bastar.
Fear and longing in Bastar: For people’s in Salwa Judum camps, there is no way home. The tribals are grinding in a two-sided mill.
It’s a miserable life in the camps for the tribesman who fled to cities in search for good and safe life and going back to their villages means risking the Maoists' wrath.
Maanbati vendez aged 35 mother of two twins children named roshan and roshni ; Her husband ramlu vendez was viciously assassinated by Maoists on 30 december 2020 .
ramlu was a farmer in his village they shifted towards the gangaloor camps in 2006 afterwards they conveyed towards shanti nagar bijapur in 2008 because naxals were also killing people's in their camp and they were scared half to death, so In search for good and Peaceful life they moved to bijapur.
In bijapur he was working as a crafts man for his day-to-day survival and was the only source for family's income.
Later on she enunciate us that the reason for their migration away from their village namely "gongla" was due to ongoing conflict during the period of salwa judam (2004-05) numerous lives were lost some of them were from gongla and familiar to maanbati and her neighbors were Suryapal Chandrakar, sarpanch Buddha Gayata, Ayata Soyam were killed.
After that most of the people including ramlu and his family left the village and took refuge in the camps.
Afterwards a year later on two more people lost their life in the nearby camps.
And time flies in their camps then On 1st of December 2020, Ramlu wendje was invited by his younger brother Lakmu wendje to celebrate the village Gongla Naya Para, to celebrate the Pvir Pandu festival and to get settle back there and retrieve their lands.
After reaching there Naxalites held him captive at 12 o'clock in the noon later they killed him and at 4pm in the evening his family received his dead body on the other hand his neighbour raju vendez who also there is still held as a capative by local police forces.
And his brother was also beaten up and left in a desperate situation still up till this date he can't move freely.
Maanbati is currently living in slum kind of camp in bijapur, without sufficient drinking water supply, without garbage disposal and in depressing situation. The poor hygiene conditions are the cause of diseases and she is suffering from fever from past several weeks and right now she have to look on to their kids so this is a huge problem and also, she have no any support from government and their policies;
When a person suffers from death by violence through the hands of Maoists government give their family, job and money and their children get free education but on actual ground most of them including maanbati are not receiving a single penny and also, they have to fill their land wages to municipal Corporation. However, there is no any single source of money in her home.
Her children's are well knowledged of their conditions and at the age of eight they are fearing for their life that if they will go to their village they will never come back.
On that day 30th december when they came suddenly they started to beat and humiliate ramlu then maanbati begged for his husband's life from the Maoist but they didn't responded to her she also said them that you can chop my husband's legs break his bones but let him live.
As like David kesslar said that Pain from loss is inevitable suffering is optional but the way her family is suffering in the camps, their life is so miserable and heart-rending and it was alarming that what is the cost of this war and how inadequately it affects their lives.
