What is the New Peace Process?

01 / Purpose

Central India is the cradle of cultures and traditions that Adivasi communities have tended for generations.

In the 1980s began a long struggle between the newly arrived Maoists and the security forces. As the conflict escalated, people experienced death, displacement and abuse. The victims are on all sides and the list grows every day. An eye for an eye is not the solution. Maoists are not the enemy; violence is.

The New Peace Process is an effort to initiate conversations, document stories of victims and devise new peace-building methods to celebrate and restore peace in Central India. The first step towards resolution is to listen.
