When was the last time you went to sleep without worrying about the next day’s food ?
As many people in bastar, chhattisgarh who are grinding between on going conflicts , Most of the victims have to work Tremendously hard to earn bread.
We met a twenty one years old girl named Raambati currently she resides in jainagar camp bijapur which was made during the violence of salwa judum, Her father was killed in 2005 by naxals after passing a judgement that he have allegiance with Police .
He was only man in the family after he passed away his family received some money from government also her father was member of panchayat in village mankeli, district bijapur.
It was hard to look after her home so she started to work as a daily wage worker from very young age, she finished her high school after that she left her study due to lack of money and food also have to look after her family.
Government provides quarterly pension to Below Poverty Line widows. This scheme comes under Social Welfare dept under which widow lady is entitled to get some financial help from state government.
But Raambati's mother isn't getting any pension from government .
She also told us that they were offered government job at the time when her father was killed but she was very young at the time and wasn't able to work and now it's battle for their survival .
Once she wished to become nurse but Didn't have any money for her training neither she receives any fund from government for her studies.
At this age by her hard work and determinations she is managing to look after her family also she is funding her sister education .
Due to lack of facilities and support she isn't able to do any diploma course in computer .
